Calling Portland’s Sustainable Small Businesses!

Sustainability.  The word brings to mind such different images depending on who you ask.  We know it’s important.  We strive to attain, live and share its practices.  But really…what does it look like and how does it change the way we do business?

That’s exactly the answer we’re hoping to provide by asking real businesses (small ones) in the Portland Metro area to contribute their sustainability practices in a new crowd-sourced book called “The Portland Bottom Line: Practices for Your Small Business From America’s Hotbed of Sustainability”.

So, how does it work?  Simple.  If you’re a small business in the Portland area and you feel you have something to share in the realm of:

-       “Green” products, operations, practices

-       Employee and Community Engagement

-       Business Model, Purpose, Collaboration

…you can contribute a 400-word essay to the book!  Visit the Portland Bottom Line website for much more detailed information.

I’m honored to be a co-editor on this crowd-sourced book project.  My co-editor, Peter Korchnak, is the brains behind this endeavor – this is his baby.

It’s going to be an amazing book and an even more rewarding experience.  100% of profits will go to a local charity chosen by the contributors.

So, my question for you today is:  who do you know in the Portland area who should be included as a contributor?  Won’t you forward the book link to them today?
